Our Purpose

Mission Statement

STEM Community Project brings hands-on after-school STEM learning to students through community partnerships that create meaningful, sustained learning opportunities.

Our programs are designed to give students repeated opportunities to investigate, design, build, code, test, measure, analyze, troubleshoot, explain, revise, and solve problems. Through this process, students learn to apply ideas in practical ways while developing curiosity and confidence.

Learning experiences may include robotics, coding, engineering design, electronics, computational thinking, scientific investigation, mathematics applications, maker-centered learning, and other age-appropriate STEM activities.

Community partnerships are central to our work. Host organizations and supporting partners contribute relationships, facilities, resources, outreach, expertise, funding, volunteers, and other support, allowing STEM Community Project to focus on delivering high-quality STEM instruction.

Our Future

Vision Statement

STEM Community Project envisions community partners working together so that meaningful, sustained after-school STEM learning becomes increasingly accessible to students.

We envision communities where students have regular opportunities beyond the school day to build, code, design, test, reason, collaborate, troubleshoot, and improve their work over time. These experiences can help students develop persistence, technical competence, curiosity, and stronger connections to STEM learning.

Our vision depends on partners contributing complementary strengths toward a shared purpose. As the partnership network grows, more communities can provide high-quality after-school STEM learning without requiring one organization to provide every component of the opportunity.

Our long-term direction is to strengthen sustained access, expand effective community partnerships, and preserve the quality, hands-on nature, and educational purpose of every student experience.
